Silver Star Gravity Feed Iron Review

Tailormaid, I have heard nothing but positives about the Naomoto Gravity Feed iron. If money wasn't an option, I would have purchased it..but since it is, the Silver Star is definitely my first choice.

Thank you so much for your reply. I a very encouraged that you are still enjoying your iron! I am definitely going to consider this iron, based on your experience. I would have to figure out an IV pole to hang it, though. Did you do a comparison of the Naomoto iron in your research (ie ergonomics)? Thanks again! Tailormaid

Tailormaid, if I remember correctly from my research, these types of gravity feed irons weighed pretty close to the same. On occasion I will pull out one of my old steam irons, and it just about drives me nuts. I really prefer my gravity feed iron. HTH

I am very interested that you found you were able to handle the weight of the iron, despite tendonitis. Do you know how the various gravity feed irons compare in weight? Tailormaid

I love your review. I have been thinking about this type of iron and you have just sold me on it. Happy sewing. I am a quilter so need to press quite a bit.

thanks for this review! I've just gone through three irons, each one worse than the last, so I ordered this iron based on your review and the additional comments about how wonderful it is. The price isn't bad considering I paid $100 for a Rowenta that ended up leaking like a sieve after 5 months of use. I also like Allbrands. I've ordered from them in the past and have had good experiences with them.

my_seamstress, what is funny is I was looking at the Delonghi for a looooong time before I decided on my Silver Star! :^) I can relate to many, many iron purchases too! :^( For me, it was the simplicity of the system that made the decision for me. Gravity for the water input, 4 settings, and no guessing as to which one I needed, the nice weight of the iron, and the price!

Sounds nice. I thought I'd compliment your review, too! If my Delonghi ends up being another enemy (like the rest of my recent iron purchases), I may try yours out!

Thanks for the review! I'm contemplating one of these and this helps alot. I've got a clothing rack that hooks to the back of my guest room closet and I think that would probably do fine with holding the tank.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine and sometimes have to use a regular iron. What a difference. It is a Must-Have.

I have been debating whether to get a gravity feed iron. It sounds like the iron I would want. Thank you for a very helpful review.
